Clare Kubota was born and raised in Hawaii and moved with her now husband, Kevin, to Los Angeles for college, and then to Bend in 1996. She and Kevin have owned Kubota Photo-Design Inc. for over twenty years.
Being an entrepreneur, Clare has had to learn all things business-related: marketing, managing a staff, bookkeeping, and everything in between. Work has taken her family traveling all over the world and allowed them to give back to those in need in many ways.
Clare has three sons, two human and one four-legged and furry. Her passions include travel, hiking, yoga, paddleboarding, and mountain biking. Clare has been a Unity member for three years.
She is honored to be part of the board and give back to the community that has helped expand her spirituality and been such a blessing in her life.

My origins – Western Canada, Saskatoon Saskatchewan. I grew up in a community whose population was predominately METIS, First Nations People. Unity with Nature, Unity with community, Unity with all of Life were my origins.
I moved to Bend Oregon in March 2019. I had a memorable meeting with Clare Kubota while looking for a place to live around June of 2019. A few months later I remembered my interaction with Clare which led me to reach out and reconnect. Clare invited me to come to a Sunday service at Unity of Central Oregon. That was at the end of August 2019. Prior to this I knew nothing about Unity. An S.E.E. week was scheduled for September 2019 and though I really had no clue what that was, I signed up.
The class I took was with Paul Hasselbeck, Metaphysics. The class content and conversation had me feeling eerrily at home. My deceased husband was a metaphysician and an architect and it felt as though he was sitting beside me making it very clear that this place, this path I was about to embark upon was predestined.
That was the beginning of this journey with Unity. I officially embarked on the path of LUT (Licensed Unity Teacher). My first intensive S.E.E. week was in March of 2020 at the Unity in Lynnwood W.A. when Covid broke. The following 1 1/2yrs were devoted to my studies, taking and completing all of the 22 required classes for LUT program. I have completed and received my certificate as an LUT with a few remaining requirements to be fulfilled before my SDS (Skills Demonstration Seminar) in the Spring of 2023. These studies and this time was a pivotal life changing experience. The ability to be in classrooms via the zoom platforms with other students around the country and the world kept my world intact while globally humanity was becoming unbuttoned to say the least. The participants and the content of the classes was life giving for which I will always be grateful. Rev. Jane Hiatt is my sponsoring Minister as an LUT Candidate.
I moved to Ridgway Colorado in October 2020 and maintained my connection to Unity through my studies. I continue to facilitate a weekly Power of Eight gathering through the Spirit Group format of Unity which is ongoing for over three years now. My prayer partner is an active member of Unity in Bend. When the Board elections happened during the last annual meeting I raised my hand over the zoom platform and was voted in as a Board member. Serving on the Board is a way for me to support the greater good for all of Life as Unity recognizes Oneness. Serving allows me contribute positively, lovingly and prayerfully to the collective consciousness as we find ourselves on this global journey of radical change.
