Sunday Service: Sunday, September 4th at 10:00 AM

With Rev. Jane Hiatt, Rev. Jim Pasmore, and Rev. Tamera Schmidt

Rev. Jane invites you to join us this Sunday

This Sunday we bring back our popular Ask the Ministers panel to focus on the issue our community is facing after the shooting at Safeway. Tragically, there were seven other mass shootings that same day in the US.

Our country—and our world—are going through a very difficult time right now. How do we, as spiritual people, hold these circumstances and stay true to our principles? That’s the big question. And you may have specific questions. We’ll do our best to answer.

Reminder – Bring a Snack to Share on Sunday

No need to get fancy, simple and easy works. We love it when our community stays to connect and chat after service. We encourage you to bring in a bag of crackers, fruit, granola bars, or dip to share. We’ll provide the coffee and tea!

Kids Activities this Sunday

This Sunday William Gregory will lead our kids ages 5 – 11 yrs in exploring the strength that comes from working together in harmony.

The nursery is open for children 4 years and under.

Teen and pre-teen – We are currently in the process of designing a program for this age group. If you have ideas and suggestions we’d LOVE to hear from you! We’re ready for some out-of-the-box thinking 😁.

What will we create together?

“Bring a Friend Sunday” & Potluck

September 11th at 10 AM – Sunday service

As we mark the 21st anniversary of 9/11, just a week after the gun violence at Safeway, we are reminded that the most powerful medicine needed at such times is a caring community. Unity Spiritual Community is a hearth where all can gather and find welcome, regardless of skin color, sexual orientation, political persuasion, age, or any other quality used to exclude people.

We not only welcome all people but cultivate the power of community in a deep way. For this Sunday, we ask you all to invite a friend and bring a potluck dish for brunch. Let’s introduce more people to the sweetness and strength of this community.

Last One! – Prosperity Potluck with Rev. Jane

Thursday, September 1st at 6pm at Unity

Topic for this week – The Laws of Creative Expression, Love and Gratitude

Don’t we look prosperous? 🙂

If you haven’t attended any of the previous classes, you’re still welcome to come. Class is free but we encourage donations! RSVP HERE.

Creating a life by design is not accidental. At these potlucks, we will gather in community to share a meal and to learn the principles (based on the work of Gay Hendricks and Unity teachings) that will turn our lives into masterpieces of delight and blessing fields that benefit one and all.

World Day of Prayer Event

Wednesday, September 7th at 6 PM at Unity

Every year Unity celebrates the high watch that prayer represents in our tradition with a worldwide day of prayer. Our community is offering two options. Join the worldwide organization in the online service, at 5pm PDT, by registering HERE. Or attend our local event at our Sanctuary from 6-7pm.

We will gather in ceremony and prayer, music and chants, led by Rev. Jane, Dave Finch, and Greg Warnick. Please arrive a little bit early so our ceremony can begin at 6 without interruptions. Prayer is such a powerful gift to ourselves, our loved ones, and the world. Please join one of these events.

Anyone and everyone can pray!

Senior Lunch Bunch

Thursday, September 15th at Noon

We’re inviting our elders to gather together, sack lunch in hand, to plan and dream. Pre-pandemic, we had a dynamic “Sageing Together” group and it’s time to see what our elders are longing for now. Rev. Jane and Kathryn Kendall, a longtime Unity member and Central Oregon transplant, are hosting this at our Unity. Please join them!

Spirit Group Starting Sept. 6th!

The Five Principles, led by Unity member Raj Parti, beginning September 6th, 5-6:30 PM via Zoom.

Spirit Groups are small groups of 6-8, either online or in person, that study spiritual topics, pray and meditate, enjoy food, and serve the larger community. This is how we build community! To learn more about Spirit Groups, upcoming offerings, or hosting your own group, visit the page link above.
