USCCO lessons are created based on A Living Curriculum philosophy. This is an approach or philosophy which affirms that lessons are to be learned and known not within or from any guide. We see that our teachings live in the children and teens themselves.

Myrtle Fillmore, a co-founder of Unity, is the deepest inspiration for A Living Curriculum. Her beliefs centered around the idea that it is not our mission to “entertain the children, but to draw them out.” This outlook on education allows for USCCO’s youth teachers to honor the wisdom within and to use storytelling and creative expereinces to “draw out” the truth we already know.
