Unity CARES - COmmunity Support

Unity Cares is our Unity of Central Oregon Unlimited Networking Tool. This is a way members of our community can communicate with others in the community about things we need or things we are offering. Volunteers are notified if another member needs assistance with such things as meals post-surgery, a ride, help moving, referrals to reliable tradespeople, etc. Unity Cares can also be used for other networking, such as posting items or services to donate, or notifying the membership of an event or performance of interest. There are some limits on what is suitable for Unity Cares — we don’t post advertising of goods and services for sale, nor do we post requests for monetary assistance. Currently we will post housing opportunities, as well as requests for housing.

TO VOLUNTEER FOR Unity Cares: You need to be in the Unity general email contact list in order to be a volunteer. (To get on that list, simply fill out a blue card and include your email address.) This does not require you to be an official member of Unity. Then you notify the Unity Cares Coordinator by phone, text, or email saying you would like to receive Unity Cares postings. Please note, volunteers have no obligation to respond to a post unless they are willing and able to help with that particular request.

TO POST A REQUEST OR OFFERING ON Unity Cares: You do not have to be a Unity Cares volunteer to post on Unity Cares. Send your post to the Unity Cares Coordinator, include as many details as possible (who, what, when, where, etc, and don’t forget contact info!).

TO ANSWER A POST ON Unity Cares: There is no need to respond to a post if you are not able to help. If you are able to help (or are interested in an offering), find the ‘contact information’ in the post and use that to reply. (You may need to copy-and-paste the email address if you are responding by email.) Please DO NOT click on ‘reply’ in the email you receive, in that case your response will go to the Unity Cares coordinator instead of the person making the request.

If you have further questions, please contact the Unity Cares coordinator, Carol Fox. She can be reached at: or at 541-527-9539
