We are canceling in-person services until March 6th. Live-streaming will be happening on our website using Zoom, and you can watch even if you don’t have a Zoom account (or want to get out of your pajamas). It will also be available as a recording on our website, Facebook, and YouTube later that day. Watch the Live-stream here. We recognize that we have a beautifully diverse community, so some may feel like we are overreacting while others feel we are under-reacting. Know that we are doing our best to navigate through this and find a balance. Connection can be more difficult when we don’t gather, but it doesn’t have to be. I encourage you to join us for the live stream of Sunday service, sign up for one or more of our other offerings, and/or reach out directly to someone in our community you haven’t seen or talked to in a while to let them know you are thinking about them. We made this decision to suspend gathering out of concern for our Central Oregon healthcare system and workers. I’m sure many of you have friends, co-workers, and family who have been exposed to COVID or have COVID right now. Even though the Omicron strain doesn’t seem to have as severe symptoms, it is the most contagious. After talking with St. Charles and Deschutes County Health Services and learning what our local healthcare system is having to deal with, we have decided to do our part to help reduce the spread by canceling in-person services. We want to be sure those who do need COVID care, or any other type of urgent health care, are able to receive that care. We hope this current surge is over much sooner than March 6th, but by setting that date our Sunday service team will know how to plan for the next few weeks of services. A lot goes into planning our services so whatever we can do to make that planning easier for our team we’d like to support. We’ve got some exciting ideas for these next few Sundays so we hope you are able to tune in. If you have questions or thoughts to share you are welcome to contact me at . Times like these are amazing opportunities to practice our Unity teachings and shine our light. Blessings and Love, Clare Kubota – your Unity Board President |
