Sunday Service – Creating a Field of Peace with Rev. Jane Hiatt

Rev. Jane Hiatt invitation to this Sunday’s talk

As war between Russia and Ukraine grabs headlines, what is ours to do? What does praying for peace mean? Is there action that is ours to take as ordinary people? In Unity we teach that our consciousness creates our reality. Let’s explore the changes in consciousness that could lead to peace in our world.

Sunday, March 6th at 10:00 am – In-Person & Livestreaming on UnityCentralOregon.org

❤️ Come Celebrate Our In-Person Reunion March 6th ❤️

We can’t wait to see you!

This Sunday, March 6th will be our first day opening up for in-person service again and we will be celebrating! We’ve got some fun things planned, so don’t miss out. If you’re not able to join us in-person you can still join the live-stream which we will continue forever and always. We will also be hosting our Annual Member meeting following service on the 6th. You don’t need to be a member to attend, but you do need to be a member to vote in our new board nominees and help us decide what organizations to tithe to in 2022. Childcare for 10 yrs. and under will be available. Masks will be required while in the sanctuary.

Bring some muffins to share (homemade or store-bought) this Sunday. We’ll provide the coffee and tea.

Each quarter Unity of Central Oregon gives 10% of what you’ve donated to us to a non-profit organization nominated and voted on by our members. If you have an organization you’d like to suggest please email it to Clare Kubota before our annual meeting on March 6th.

How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the Ways

from Kevin Kubota

From Count Dracula to the launching of a rocket to our mother’s theoretical end of patience, we have always used counting to bring our attention to something important. It’s no wonder it is also a key ingredient in countless meditation practices and methods for relaxation and focus!

For a few years now, I’ve made it a daily morning practice to do the Five Tibetans (those numbers again!) along with some yoga, prayer, affirmation, and meditation. I created a counting method for my exercise repetitions that has turned in to a fun and effective way to combine affirmations with workout – and it works as a stand-alone stress reliever!

It’s simple: for each number there is an affirmation, and it goes a little something like this:

ONE – I AM One with all there is

TWO – I see you, and I love you

THREE – All I need is inside of me

FOUR – I AM opening up the door

FIVE – It’s so GOOD to be alive!

SIX – I’m magical and full of tricks!

SEVEN – On earth and it is in heaven

EIGHT – Life is GREAT when I appreciate!

NINE – I AM Divine

TEN – I go within to find my zen

ELEVEN – On earth I CREATE my heaven!

And so it is! Why eleven? Why not? It’s also helpful if you create a visual in your mind to go with each number/affirmation. For example, for “ONE – I AM One with all there is”, I imagine myself as a shining light and water droplet splashing down in to a beautiful sea and becoming ONE with it and all there is. Come up with your own number affirmations and visuals that are meaningful and exciting to you.

The next time you do a workout, or are impatiently waiting at the DMV, count your blessings and turn that frown upside down! 🙃

Member Appreciation 🙏🏽

This week our shout out goes to Nikko Kubota. Nikko has been part of our community for a couple of years now but never felt fully connected or engaged. As a 20-year-old he just had other priorities in his life. All it took was joining one of Rev Jane’s Spirit Groups to change all that. Being part of that group gave him an opportunity to connect with other Unity members on a deeper level.

He is now hosting his own Spirit Group and other young adults have joined his group and are having wonderful and enriching dialogue during their group time. We all need to find our peeps to feel like we’re truly part of something. Way to step out of your comfort zone Nikko by hosting a group and inspiring other 20-somethings into spiritual learning!

Have Something You Think We Should Include in Our Newsletter?
