Sunday Service: October 9th at 10:00 AM

Rev. Jane invites you to join us this Sunday

Be a Blessing—Here’s How! The BE Attitudes

With Rev. Jane Hiatt

The Sermon on the Mount may (or may not) have been an actual sermon. If it was, it was the only one Jesus ever delivered. It reveals an attitudinal template for transforming our lives dramatically and accessing our full light and power.

Johanna Beekman

Free Your Soul’s Voice Playshop

Sunday, Oct. 16th from 1 to 3 PM at Unity with Johanna Beekman

This workshop is an upbeat, playful exploration of the human voice, designed for everyone. Through sound, movement, rhythm, speech, and song, Johanna helps participants to unlearn their ideas about singing and speaking and learn how to tune and care for the human instrument. Inspired by the safe, playful energy of the space, we create and explore light-hearted chants and harmonies, layering together our perfectly unique voices, just for the joy and freedom of it. (Not to mention health and nervous system benefits!) No previous singing or chanting experience is necessary. Class cost is a $20 love offering to support the instructor and Unity.

EarthCare and ACT Fall Harvest Potluck

October 11th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Unity

Let’s come together, break bread (or squash) and visit with our EarthCare and ACT Social Justice teams. We’ll get an update on what the teams have been up to and brainstorm what we want to do next. And, we will have a conversation, kick-started by Cylvia about the tricky issue of whether or not human overpopulation is a problem and how do we jive that with our spiritual beliefs that each of us is a spark of Divinity? What?!! Yep, one of the points of this gathering is to see how you all feel about having some deep discussions about tricky subjects.

Let’s “dig-in” to important discussions!

Member Appreciation

This week we’d like to celebrate SolShine member Donna Benjamin. She has dedicated a tremendous amount of time sharing her musical talents with us each Sunday and adding some feminine energy to the SolShine team. She is also on our prayer team and is a beautiful example of someone who is dedicated to her spiritual growth and learning. Thank you for sharing your love and kindness with our community Donna!

Listen to Donna sharing her beautiful flute last Sunday for our meditation.

Are You On The U Count Email List?

U Count is where members of our community can reach out to other members and ask for help. If you’d like to be notified when someone in our community needs something, be sure you are on this email list. To sign-up email Kevin Kubota. There is never any obligation to help, you decide what you are able to help with. A number of our members have reached out over the years for various services, housing, items, and received the support they needed.

Don’t Forget to Bring Your Contribution to the Fall Community Altar

Those of you that have been joining us in person for Sunday service may have noticed the large table as you now enter the sanctuary. One of our beautiful members, River Hedegaard, had the idea of creating a community altar that would greet people as they entered the space. That idea has been met with such enthusiasm we immediately moved the table there and began envisioning exactly what this altar would hold. It’s been fun to see what has started to be placed on the altar. We can’t wait to see what you share with us!
