Invitation to this Sunday’s service with Ananda Das

Activate the Power of Durga: The Yogic Path of Power and Protection

with Ananda Das

Durga is the invincible goddess who rides a lion, holding divine weapons in ten arms โ€” yet she emerges from stillness and returns to peace. She is both warrior and mother, protector and liberator, fierce and compassionate. Youโ€™ll be invited to:

  • Learn the deeper meanings of Durga through stories
  • Chant sacred mantras to invoke Durgaโ€™s energy and embody her qualities of strength, clarity, and grace
  • Experience guided meditations to connect with her archetypal presence and your own inner resilience
  • Explore yogic and tantric insights into boundaries, sovereignty, and spiritual empowerment

Whether youโ€™re navigating a challenge, seeking clarity, or stepping into your own voice โ€” this gathering is an invitation to return to your center and rise with fierce devotion.

Ananda Das is a devotional artist, teacher, and founder of the Modern Bhakti Yoga Academy. With over 15 years of experience leading kirtans, spiritual trainings, and transformational retreats worldwide, he brings a unique blend of mantra, music, and mystic insight to his offerings.

50k to Light the Way – A Fundraiser for Our New Minister

Unlock the Match โ€“ Double Your Impact

Thanks to our Cornerstone Donors, $25,000 in pledges are waiting to be activated. But hereโ€™s the key: these funds only become real when the whole community steps up. Every dollar you give unlocks another dollar from the Cornerstone circle. That means your gift of $50 becomes $100, your gift of $250 becomes $500. Together, we can ensure that the full $50,000 goal is reached and our new minister begins their service on a firm and welcoming foundation.

Please make your contribution today and be part of lighting the way for our future. Your generosity will ensure that Unity continues to be a place of spiritual growth, inspiration, and connection for families and individuals throughout Central Oregon.

Progress Update: Nine donors have contributed a total of $1,000 (4%) towards the $25,000 target that will be matched. There are only five weeks left until the end of the drive on November 16, so please donโ€™t delay in making your contribution.

OTHER HAPPENINGS

Play – Almost, Maine

Friday, October 16th & 17th

Ellipse Theatre Community Presents – Almost, Maine, a place thatโ€™s so far north, itโ€™s almost not in the United States. Itโ€™s almost in Canada. And itโ€™s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesnโ€™t exist. One cold, clear winter night, as the Northern Lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mendโ€”almostโ€”in this delightful midwinter nightโ€™s dream.

Two showings at Unity on Oct. 16th & 17th at 7PM. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the registration link.

Appreciation

For the Love of Food & Fellowship

Each week, after hearing a beautiful message that lifts our spirits, we come together to share fellowship and food.

Weโ€™re especially grateful for those who bring in treats for everyone to enjoy – helping make these moments extra special.

From baked goodies made with love, to fresh salads, hearty breads, and simple but satisfying cheese and crackers – each item, whether homemade or thoughtfully purchased, has been brought with the same spirit of care and connection.

These offerings remind us that fellowship is not only something we speak about, but something we create together – one shared plate at a time.

To all who have been bringing in these delicious treats, thank you for your generosity and for nurturing the warmth of our community.

May we continue to gather, share, and celebrate the joy that comes from both good food and good company.

Weโ€™d love for you to join in and bring a favorite dish to share!
