Sunday Service: March 5th at 10:00 AM

Introduction to Sunday service with Rev. Jane Hiatt

Bearing Light in Dark Times

With Rev. Jane Hiatt

As we look around at the suffering in the world, and sometimes in our own lives, the pain can be paralyzing. Yet we know the Creative Light of Love is omnipresent. Rev. Jane will be exploring ways to activate that power.

Bring a snack to share at our after service buffet 😁

Annual Meeting Highlights

Did you miss the Annual Meeting last Tuesday night? You can watch the video on our website to see all the details, but here are the highlights:

Five new board members were voted in – Elaine Cornick, Kevin Kubota, Genesis Ilada, Sarah Jones, and HelenLisle King. We now have a board of 8 amazing people! We hope you get to know them and share your thoughts and ideas with them so they can truly be a voice for our entire community.

Rev. Jane shared her vision for her role going forward as senior minister.

Cylvia Hayes shared her role in our community once she is ordained this Spring.

We voted for the four local non-profits we’ll be tithing to in 2023. The winners are – Around the Bend Farms, PFLAG, Peaceful Presence Project, CO Land Watch, and VegNet Bend.

• Clare Kubota, the board president for the past 5 years did a review of 2022, and new board president, Leia Napoli, shared what the board focus will be for 2023.

BIG NEWS – Dan Pebbles, one of the four owners of our property, shared that two owners, the Wolgamotts, and Dee Elko, will be donating their equity and portion of ownership to Unity this fall making Unity 50% owners of the property! This is very exciting news and also a big financial responsibility we’ll need to prepare for. What a generous gift, we are so grateful.

Introduction to Community Grief Ceremony

Community Grief Ceremony

March 9th – 11th at Unity

Grief is an invitation to feel. It invites us to come into the body to shed light on those things that are ready to be released in order to heal. Because of this, we must have ways to move our pain. Grief needs to be regularly felt and released or it begins to smother our joy, creativity, and our ability to connect with our self and others. This ceremony will be hosted by three trained guides and begins Thursday evening, runs all day Friday, and until 2pm on Saturday. Unity members receive special pricing.

Movie Night & Potluck – Need to Grow

Thursday, March 16th at 5:30 PM at Unity

We invite you to a potluck and documentary night, followed by a brief demo on how to grow your own sprouts, with an amazing super easy, super nutritious indoor technique using mason jars. Food production is one of the biggest human systems in the world and one that needs to be redesigned if we are going to help heal our planet. Sprout growing demo and kits will be available for $5! This is a free event, but love offerings are encouraged to support Unity and future events like this.

Member Appreciation

This week we are appreciating the amazing SolShine musician and long time member, Victor Johnson! We all know Victor for his many musical talents – vocals, guitar, cello, piano, the list goes on. Did you know he is also a gifted music teacher who has shared his songs with pre-school aged children, seniors in assisted living homes, and everyone in between. Our entire music team puts a lot of time and energy into selecting songs to go along with each week’s talk topic AND learns those songs in just a couple days to be able to perform them on Sunday. Victor, thank you for being such a dedicated part of our music team and the love you put into every performance! We are blessed to have you. 🙏🏽💕
