Introduction to Sunday service with Pam Mindt

Mirror Mirror on the Wall: What You See May Influence All

With Pam Mindt

If you have not had the good fortune of meeting Unity member Army Col. Pam Mindt retired you will this Sunday! Pam lives on six acres with her animals outside of Redmond. Pam served in the Reserve Component of the United States Army for over 39 years. After the war started in 2003 she deployed multiple times to include Guantanamo Bay, Iraq and Afghanistan. Over the years she worked in corrections, criminal justice, social services. She received accolades for helping save youth in a fire at the Anoka County Juvenile Center, received the Bryan Coyle Leadership Award, MN NASW Public Citizen of the Year, a Bronze Star and is known for successfully challenging the military’s policy banning Lesbian and Gays from serving. We are honored to have her as our speaker this Sunday.

Here is what she’ll be sharing…

If you are like me, you look in the mirror several times throughout the day.
We look as we brush our teeth or comb our hair.
We gaze into the mirror to make sure our clothes look good.
We look at ourselves every day—-when you look, Who do you see? Do you see the Divine looking back at you?
Henry David Thoreau wrote: “It is not what you look at that matters, it is what you see.”
What would your response be if I said, the way we experience the world, our communities, our relationships, our life starts with what we see in the mirror – those glances throughout the day make a difference. Sometimes the change we want in our world, our life, starts in that reflection. We all want peace, joy, prosperity, love..miracle upon miracle. Join me this Sunday to explore change, to embrace change, to create miracles….to Be the Miracle. If you are like me, you look in the mirror several times throughout the day.

Member Appreciation

We had a wonderful Spring Equinox event last night at Unity – a cacao ceremony followed by Kirtan music and traditional Indian dance for the Goddess Durga!! Many of you were there to enjoy this beautiful event, thank you so much for coming. We’d like to appreciate all the wonderful musicians – Greg Warnick, Victor Johnson, Eric Troup, Pete Kartsounes, Marie Sonalet, and Julie Southwell, Willow Seronko who led the cacao ceremony, and of course Tenley Wallace for her amazing dance. The combination of all this talent was nothing short of magical. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for creating such a perfect welcome to Spring.
