Invitation to Sunday’s talk, with Rev. Cylvia Hayes

Your Resurrection is up to you, no matter the past — Rise and Rise Again!

with Rev. Cylvia Hayes

Happy Easter! How perfect that the Easter observance takes place right after Spring equinox. This is a season about releasing the past and opening up to new growth. The conventional Christian Easter story is about Jesus coming back to life after being crucified. That is not how Easter resonates with me. Instead, I think this spring-time observance is a great time to reflect on the ways in which we crucify ourselves and how we can stop doing so. More importantly, we are actually in charge of our own resurrection, no matter the challenges that have taken us down – loss, addiction, abuse, past mistakes we may regret – none of those things define us and we each have the power to recreate our lives and our SELVES.

Member Appreciation

This week we’re doing a shout out to member Jen Acorn. You may have seen her smiling and dancing in the kitchen on Sundays 💃🏻. We are celebrating her lively energy and joy. Jen volunteers in the kitchen and donated all the paper eggs for us to decorate for the kids. (If you took one, don’t forget to bring it Sunday filled with something for the kids) She loves the feeling she gets walking in the doors of our sanctuary and from our community. We are glad to be a place of inspiration for you Jen and appreciate all the ways you give back and support Unity.
