Sunday Service: May 7th at 10:00 AM

Introduction to Sunday Service with Rev. Jane and Rev. Tamera

Blessing of the Children

with Rev. Jane and Rev. Tamera

Spring brings lambs and other baby animals. It’s a time to relish our planet’s young. This Sunday we will be honoring our young and their parents with ceremonies. Rev. Jane will lead a blessing/welcoming of the little ones —similar to a christening, but minus any washing away of sins! She will also lead a coming-of-age ceremony for those entering middle school (or already in adolescence). Their parents need to bring a journal and a compass. Rev. Tam will lead a Blanketing ceremony for our teens who are completing their high school journey and moving out into adult life. (They need to bring a special blanket to hold all the blessings we’ll be showering them with.) The message will be all about intrinsic value, young dreams, and the critical component of spirituality for our youth.

Guest musicians Becky Thatcher & Matt Corey will be performing their wonderful music for our service this Sunday!

Bring a snack to share at our after service buffet 😁

Member Appreciation 💖

While Clare Kubota is off in Peru and others get to step in to create the newsletter copy, we are taking this opportunity to appreciate Clare! Although technically an employee and not a volunteer, she does so much more than what our community pays her for. If you know Clare, you know she is the glue that holds us together. Clare is usually one of the first to arrive on Sunday and the last to leave. She vets all the ideas that people come up with, helping us to have a cornucopia of offerings that are inspiring and not a chaotic mind dump of possibilities. She works with our guest musicians and has created systems that help us all to communicate with each other. She works with all of our volunteer teams, making sure that volunteers have a schedule and know what they need to do. And in her spare time, she’s weeding or jumping in to help with face-painting or taking a shift to clean our building. And she does it all with a big smile on her face. She cares about us all and it shows!

Clare, we hope you’re reading this from Peru. While you’re up there admiring the wonder of Machu Picchu, remind yourself that you’re every bit as impressive and precious to your community back home.
