Foundations of Unity

Building consciousness, knowledge and skills in any endeavor begins with learning the foundational principles. This course is designed to be the first course students take when embarking upon any of the Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute’s learning paths (but it is useful to take at any point in your studies). Students will explore foundational principles from Lessons in Truth, Discover the Power Within You and other historical texts. Healing and Wholeness

The Unity Movement began when our co-founder, Myrtle Fillmore, healed herself from a life-threatening medical condition. This course is based in the spiritual universal principles that support the expression of healing, health and wholeness in our minds, bodies and affairs. We will work with Myrtle and Charles Fillmore’s interpretation of healing and wholeness, as well as with historical and contemporary master teachers. The heart-centered metaphysics we explore will inspire us and provide a spiritual foundation in living our best lives.

Teachings of Jesus

In this class, we will explore the historical Jesus, his sayings, his way of teaching, and how he lived with a goal of increasing the relevance of this Master Teacher in our lives.

Texts: Jesus 2.1 and the Bible (recommendation is The New Interpreter’s Study Bible, but anyone will do)

Self-Awareness

We are not what we have been told and more than what we have been led to believe.In this class we will dive deep into what that might mean to each student/participant.Our aim as a Unity community is to raise our awareness, expand our consciousness to the Divine nature of our Being.We are connected to all living matter, all energy physical and non-physical.In order to live from such an expanded awareness of Self we must come to know ourselves and what operating systems are at play.This a broad, fun, far reaching study and discovery.We will weave into the realm of science, the energy body, explore spiritual practices as an access point, ask questions, challenge beliefs.

To be Self – Aware is to realize the dimensions of self and the states of those dimensions, mind, body, soul.Through this study participants will become more conscious of their attitudes, beliefs and ways of being and learn how to integrate spiritual principles to maintain balance and honor all facets of their sacred Being. Introduction to The Christ class

In this class we will look at Christ as the Universal or Cosmic Christ.  We will explore our understandings of Jesus Christ and see the difference between Jesus the man and Christ the Divine Presence, indwelling since the beginning of time in everyone and everything.

Drawing on the mystics, scripture, ancient history and engaging spiritual practice we may come to see our understandings and beliefs have been limited by religious debate, culture and our human tendency to see ourselves both as separate from all that is and at the center, dominant.

At such a time as this that we are living our salvation may very well lie in the rediscovery of the indwelling Christ in action in our individual lives, and in the world. We may discover our salvation on this planet is Unity, Oneing with all that is.  Participants will have this opportunity to question, feel, listen and discover what their understanding and connection is to, The Christ.

Richard Rohr’s book, “The Universal Christ; How a Forgotten Reality Can Change Everything We See, Hope for and Believe”, will be our guide in this deep conversation and re-membering the true Christ Nature within.
