Like Moses before him, MLK Jr, came down from the mountain top with a gift for the people. Where Moses brought the law, a way of living in right alignment with higher consciousness, MLK Jr. brought a dream, a vision of harmony that seemed beyond possibility at that time. The psalmist says, “I lift up my eyes to the mountain, from whence comes my help.” Mountain Medicine encourages us to look beyond the affairs and turmoil of the day, to lift our consciousness to that which is lasting. Mountains offer a higher perspective as well as secret caverns of deep healing. As we deal with the turmoil of the election process and the emotions triggered if the candidate we favored did not win, we will need mountain medicine to move through this time with grace.
